Our Treatment Phases
Guided by Christian principles and focused on treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—we’ve built a three-phase program that prepares you for long-term recovery.
Our program is designed to take you from detox all the way through completing an internship with ARC. Each client begins with our foundational phase 1 program and may progress to additional phases.
Phase 1: Detox and Residential Treatment
30 to 60 days (length varies depending on client needs)
In phase one we focus on 1) getting the substance(s) out of your system, 2) helping you understand how your addiction has affected your mind, body and spirit, and 3) developing a personalized recovery plan.
Phase 1 Includes:
- Supervised Detox
- One-on-One and Group Counseling
- 24/7 Addiction Specialist Support
- A Personalized Treatment Plan
- Spiritual Mentoring
- AA, NA and Celebrate Recovery Meetings
Phase 2: Sober Living
30 to 60 Days (length varies depending on client needs)
Phase two starts your transition for practicing recovery by focusing on peer support and giving practical tools and assistance to get back into work and school (e.g. paying bills, finding housing).
Phase 2 Includes:
- Intensive Outpatient Care
- Personalized Case Management
- Continued Spiritual Mentoring
- Continued One-on-One and Group Counseling
- Peer Support in a Sober Living Environment
- AA, NA, and Celebrate Recovery Meetings
Phase 3: Internship, Education and Employment
6 to 9 Months (length varies depending on the type of schooling and internship)
During the final phase of treatment, we provide an opportunity for you to build life skills through participating in our internship program and peer support academy in conjunction with Sullivan University.
Upon completing your internship, you will receive a certificate in Health and Human Services from Sullivan University that can be rolled into Sullivan’s 2-year associate or 4-year bachelor’s program in Health and Human Services.
Phase 3 Includes:
- Progress Towards an Associate's Degree (through Sullivan University)
- Internship at ARC Centers
- Continued Rehabilitation and Counseling
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Employment at ARC

Common Questions
Will my insurance cover the cost of the program?
We accept Kentucky Medicaid plans and are in network with
- WellCare
- Aetna Better Health of Kentucky
- Passport Health Plan
- Humana
What should I bring with me to rehab?
Bring your casual clothes and basic toiletries. You'll be able to do laundry here, so we recommend a week or two's worth of clothing. Linens and towels are provided and laundered on a regular basis.
See list of items to bring for Men or Women
Can my family visit during recovery?
We set aside every Saturday as family day. This is a time when your family and loved ones can come visit and attend counseling sessions with you (family counseling sessions must be scheduled ahead of time).
How does detox work at ARC?
We conduct on-site, non-medical detox. The formal detox process usually takes anywhere between 3 to 7 days at the beginning of phase one. Licensed professionals will work with you through the entire detox process and provide 24/7 support. For those who require medical detox (e.g. if you’re struggling with substances like alcohol or benzodiazepines), we work with nearby hospitals who will help you during the detox process.
